Police forces made the arrest under the auspices of the ongoing Hells Angels investigation

A foreign national was arrested in the Algarve with relation to the ongoing investigation of the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club. The Belgian male was taken to Lisbon for questioning, where he was kept in preventive incarceration until further judicial developments.

Authorities suspect the man was involved in the alleged crimes of criminal association, attempted qualified murder, robbery, grievous bodily harm, and possession of prohibited weapons.

The ongoing process against the motorcycle club is at the joint responsibility of the Central Department of Investigation and Penal Action, and the Judiciary Police’s National Counterterrorism Unit.

Currently, eighty nine people are officially accused, with forty three of them incarcerated.
