Alleged Highway 61 member Charged following violent home invasion in Jimboomba

Investigators from Logan Major and Organised Crime Squad today charged a 29-year-old man with serious violent offences stemming from a home invasion committed in October 2018.

Operation Romeo Site commenced in April 2019 after new information was received about the home invasion and serious assault of a man, his wife and child at a Jimboomba address in the early hours of October 1, 2018.

The 29-year-old man was alleged to have been a member of Highway 61 Outlaw MotorCycle Club at the time of this offence.

He was charged with one count each of grievous bodily harm, enter dwelling with intent an indictable offence, wilful damage, stealing and two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm.

He will appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on August 22, 2019.

Detectives continue to investigate this matter and are expecting to speak with further people believed to have been involved or know about the matter as part of their continued investigation.

Acting Detective Senior Sergeant Gavin Pascoe from Logan Major and Organised Crime Squad said as part of our continued commitment to investigating serious and violent crimes committed by members of outlaw motorcycle clubs, this was a targeted and specific operation.

“The operation resulted in significant charges being brought against a man who at the time was a member of the Highway 61 Outlaw Motorcycle Club,”
