Hundreds of motorcyclists and scooter riders to join St Luke's ride out

A CHARITY ride out is being held to raise funds for St Luke’s Hospice.

Motorcyclists and scooter riders are invited to join the ninth annual event on Sunday, July 14.

Clubs from across Cheshire and North Staffordshire have teamed up to help fund care and support for people living with cancer and their families.

More than 250 riders took part in last year’s event.

The ride starts at St Luke’s furniture warehouse on Road One on Winsford Industrial Estate at 12 noon and follows a 40-mile route to arrive at Middlewich Classic Car and Motorcycle Show at around 1.15pm.

This year’s show takes place on a bigger site at Harbuttos Field on King Street on Saturday and Sunday, from 10am to 4pm each day.

The charity ride is open to all types of motorcycles, scooters and mopeds and riders are asked to make a £5 donation.

Riders will be directed by marshals placed at significant roundabouts and junctions along the route.

All riders will be expected to be road legal and abide by the Highway Code.

The ride is supported by Crewe Honda Centre, Single Tracker Motorcycles and Bikezone rider Training of Crewe.

Organiser Denis Newall , from South Cheshire Motorcycle Club, said: “The event is open to all types of motorcycles, scooters and mopeds and riders are asked to make a £5 donation. We aim to promote the positive image of motorcyclists and scooterists and give riders the chance to have fun and meet new people.

“People have donated their time, resources and expertise, including administrators, marshals, St Luke’s volunteers and representatives of the supporting clubs.”
