Four Harley Davison enthusiasts set off from the Stratstone motorbike dealership in Chapel Ash heading for a rally in Russia.
Riding with Mark Cutter, Mike White and Gavin Freebairn, all from the Wulfruna chapter of Harley owners, was Sue O’Grady, who sold her home in Doncaster 10 years ago to travel the world on her own mean machine.
The four will ride through 10 countries on their trek to St Petersburg for a Harley Davidson rally taking place this week.
Friend Adrian Dainty, who had to pull out of the trip to undergo surgery, said it was one of many rallies attended by Harley Davidson riders throughout the year.
“They will be doing at least 500 miles a day so it’s a serious ride. The rally is the reason for the trip but it’s really all about the ride,”said Mr Dainty.
And he had great praise for Sue O’Grady, who is well-known in the close-knit motorbiking community.
He said: “Sue is outrageous, with a great attitude to life. She only returned from riding all round Canada two or three days before setting off for Russia – nothing seems to faze her, she’s a fantastic inspiration.”
The Wolverhampton Motorcycle Club, which has more than 60 members, meets at the Chapel Ash dealership on Saturdays, riding out two or three times a week. They also raise money for charities.
