Haworth-based classic motorbike club rides to the aid of hospice

The Haworth-based Yorkshire Classic Motorcycle Club has donated £1,000 to the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice.

Members have supported Manorlands for over 15 years through events such as an annual show and trials.

And they made the latest contribution after learning about the plight of the Sue Ryder charity, which runs the hospice. It is desperately short of funds and has launched an emergency appeal to keep its services going.

“Many members live in the area and recognise how important the hospice is in providing end-of-life care in this part of Yorkshire,” said club president Neil Anderton.

“Our activities have been curtailed in line with the Government coronavirus guidelines and without knowing when they are likely to start-up again, we decided to try to support Manorlands now while the need was urgent.

“The club wishes to thank all the staff at the hospice for their heroic efforts during this difficult time.”
