Three Comanchero bikie club members have been charged with assaulting a man outside a Fortitude Valley nightclub.
State crime command Detective Superintendent Roger Lowe described the alleged incident on Sunday as a “cowardly, vicious and unprovoked attack”.
The trio allegedly assaulted a man they did not know outside the Mr Mista cocktail bar on Ann Street.
The victim was taken to hospital with facial injuries.
Superintendent Lowe said footage depicted the three men allegedly assaulting the victim, continuing to do so while the he was unconscious.
“The event got to the stage where members of the public came in an intervened in this attack, including women to try and stop what was unfolding,” he said.
Superintendent Lowe alleged the footage showed an unknown woman was also assaulted when she tried to help.
He urged anyone with information or footage to come forward.
The detective said Taskforce Maxima found evidence in house raids conducted on Thursday before the men were charged.
Superintendent Lowe said investigations would continue into the matter as further charges could arise.
“Our observations of the events is that it was a cowardly attack and something we would not like to see in the Safe Night Precinct,” he said.
“We also undertake operations in there with the Brisbane Taskforce Maxima region police looking at any activity of persons from outlaw motorcycle clubs frequently in these licensed premises causing harm, risk and intimidation in public.”
A 33-year-old Hamilton man, a 31-year-old man from Newstead and a Logan man, 29, were charged with affray.
The Newstead man was also charged failing to take reasonable care with a syringe and three counts of possessing dangerous drugs, while the Logan man was facing charges of possessing dangerous drugs and breach of a domestic violence order.
They will appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on March 23 and have also been served with notices banning them from the Fortitude Valley Safe Night Precinct.
