A Bandidos bikie has been charged with a string of offences after allegedly leading police on a dramatic chase in a stolen car at the weekend.
The 28-year-old man, who police say is a member of the Bandidos OMC, was taken into custody in Labrador on Saturday.
It’s understood he tried to run from officers after the car he was driving was halted by police stingers.
During a search of the vehicle, police also allegedly uncovered ecstasy tablets and a number of identification cards.
The man has since been charged with multiple offences including unlawful use of a motor vehicle, evading police, possession of dangerous drugs and driving whilst disqualified.
He is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on 15 July 2019.
Officer in Charge of Taskforce Maxima, Detective Senior Sergeant Michael Bolin said the arrest was a culmination of significant investigations by police in the Gold Coast and Logan Districts.
“We are focused on keeping our community safe and this arrest is a result of extensive police investigations conducted over several weeks,” Detective Senior Sergeant Bolin said.
