A senior member of the Rebels outlaw motorcycle club has been charged with 18 offences after a police raid found weapons, drugs, and 20 drums of suspected stolen diesel.
At 5.40am on Thursday, officers from Strike Force Raptor North spoke to man, 45, on a street in Rutherford, a town north-east of Newcastle.
The man was arrested and charged with breaching bail and fronted Maitland Magistrate’s Court that morning where he was granted conditional bail.
Strike Force Raptor North then conducted a raid on a house in Rutherford the same day where the items were found.
They also uncovered a crystal substance suspected to be ice, prescribed restricted substances and 20 drums of diesel suspected of being stolen.
He was charged with four counts of possess prohibited weapon without permit, four of use prohibited weapon contrary to prohibition order, four of fail to ensure safe keeping of prohibited weapon, three of possess prohibited drug, two of possess prescribed restricted substance and goods in custody.
The 45-year-old was refused bail to front Maitland Local Court on July 19.
Strike Force Raptor is part of NSW Police Criminal Groups Squad and was established in 2009.
The strike force conducts proactive investigations and intelligence based operations to disrupt and dismantle criminal networks.
