A FORMER sergeant-at-arms of the Notorious MC has been charged over a brawl inside a Western Sydney detention centre.

The fight allegedly erupted between Jihad Murad, 33, and about 15 others at the Villawood Detention Centre late on March 28.

Guards managed to contain the violence but four detainees had to be rushed to hospital for treatment.

Three “sharp-edged” weapons were seized at the scene and the Australian Federal Police reviewed extensive CCTV footage of the fight.

One of eight men charged with affray, Murad entered Villawood after being released from jail in December 2018. Murad was transferred to Bankstown Local Court for a brief appearance on August 6.

He was granted bail, saving him another stint with Corrective Services NSW but was taken straight back to Villawood Detention Centre.

Notorious was born in 2007, heralding the arrival of the “Nike bikies” who switched shaggy beards and motorbikes for smart sneakers, trendy T-shirts and gym sessions. It was dissolved in 2011.

Murad is due back in Bankstown Local Court on August 20.
