Two men with alleged links to a rival bikie gang have been charged with the murders of Gold Coast bikie and father Shane Ross, and his friend car enthusiast Cameron Martin.

On October 18, Mr Martin, 47, died when his Mercedes-Benz sedan veered off the road and hit a tree on Tallebudgera Creek Road in Tallebudgera about 9.15pm.

Police said there was more to the car crash than met the eye, with the victim suffering a gunshot wound to the chest before his car slammed into the tree.

His friend and Comanchero member, Mr Ross, 36, was found dead in bushland days later near the Pacific Highway and Tallebudgera Creek Road at Tallebudgera. He had been shot in the head.

The accused, aged 42 and 34 and both from Coolangatta, were charged with two counts of murder with a serious organised crime aggravation and one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

They are due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on Friday.

Police said an arrest warrant was issued for a 31-year-old man, currently in custody in New South Wales, on the same three charges.

Earlier this month, as part of an appeal for information, Mr Ross’ wife, Alex, said “a choice from his very distant past did not … define him as a human being”.

“I ask that you look beyond the tattoos, many of which are in honour of my daughters and I,” she said.

“Our three-year-old daughter wants to know if her Daddy is coming back … why did he leave and ‘will he stay dead forever, Mummy?’

“They want to know why someone has taken their Daddy away from them and at the very least they deserve those answers.”

Mr Martin’s father, Ted, also spoke at the media conference, describing him as a “boy from the bush”.

Detective Superintendent Brendan Smith said in a statement on Thursday night that it had been a complex and difficult investigation.

“It will be alleged the murders were premeditated involving significant planning by the alleged offenders who are senior members of the Lone Wolf outlaw motorcycle club,” he said.

“These were vicious and premeditated crimes we will allege were carried out by an organised crime gang.”

Public information has been critical to solving the matter and bringing closure to the victims’ families.

“To this end, we continue to call for public information to ensure all persons connected to these crimes face the consequences of their actions.”
