Three people, including a former Rebels MC member, will face court today charged after Strike Force Raptor investigators seized firearms, prohibited drugs and cash in Sydney’s west.
As part of ongoing targeting and disruption of the illicit activities of criminal networks, police from the Criminal Groups Squad’s Strike Force Raptor, executed two search warrants at homes in Colebee from 6.15am yesterday (Thursday 23 April 2020).
During the searches, strike force investigators seized four firearms – including two shotguns and two pistols – ammunition, $8400 cash, a money counting machine, mobile phones and knuckle dusters.
Police also seized prescription medication, steroids and prohibited drugs believed to be cocaine, heroin and methylamphetamine (ice).
Two men – aged 29 and 34 – and a 28-year-old woman were arrested and taken to Riverstone Police Station.
A 29-year-old woman was also arrested after attending one of the homes in a rental car and checks revealed her licence was suspended. She was also taken to Riverstone Police Station.
The older man, who is a former Rebels MC member, was charged with 10 offences including;
- possess unauthorised prohibited firearm,
- possess shortened firearm (not pistol) without authority,
- possess unauthorised pistol,
- supply prohibited drug (indictable quantity),
- possess prohibited drug (x3),
- possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority,
- possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit (x2).
The younger man was charged with 13 offences including;
- possess unauthorised pistol,
- possess unregistered firearm (pistol),
- not keep firearm safely (pistol),
- possess unauthorised prohibited firearm,
- possess unregistered firearm – prohibited firearm,
- possess shortened firearm without authority,
- not keep firearm safely – prohibited firearm,
- possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority,
- supply prohibited drug (commercial quantity),
- supply prohibited drug (indictable quantity),
- possess prohibited drug (x2),
- possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit.
The older woman was charged with drive motor vehicle while licence suspended and detention application.
All three were refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court today (Friday 24 April 2020).
The younger woman was released pending further inquiries.
