B-N.C – A Levenmouth-based charity is continuing to support the community during the Covid-19 crisis, thanks to National Lottery funding.
Kingdom Off Road Motorcycle Club received £3114 from The National Lottery Community Fund to sustain it through difficult times and are helping with the home-schooling efforts while making learning at home fun.
KORMC is providing online motorcycle maintenance sessions, online ‘workshop workout’ sessions, with off-road motorcycle related fitness, and ‘Meet the Pro’s’ videos, with question and answer sessions with respected professional and elite riders.
The charity already has a grant from the National Lottery Community Fund. Their grant is to help make our communities safer by providing a controlled environment for youngsters to ride their motorcycle legally.
They look to change attitude and values, encouraging pro-social use of motorcycles, whist facilitating positive youth development. The club is also developing their motorcycle maintenance learning, helping young people to gain STEM skills boosting.
Project manager Dave Paton said: “With children and young people currently being off school due to the COVID-19 crisis, it must be difficult for families self-isolating, and with some, education unfortunately may not be their priority.
“Our charity is providing interesting online learning opportunities, basic motorcycle mechanics, some of which can be accredited via Youth Scotland Awards.
“Additionally, we are encouraging young people to keep their health and wellbeing a priority, by hosting two weekly online physical exercise sessions – these are off-road motorcycle sport related. These additional funds from the National Lottery Community Fund will help us to continue our efforts and be ready to respond when restrictions ease.”
