A man with close links to the Lone Wolf bikie club has been charged over a home invasion in Perth’s eastern suburbs.

The man was charged by the gang crime squad after detectives were called in to investigate the home invasion on Gabriel Street in Cloverdale just after 2am morning of 21st of May. Police will allege the group of men went to the house and assaulted the homeowner, a man in his 40s, leaving the victim with injuries to his head and arm.

Two men were arrested shortly after — one of them a 30-year-old who has been charged with assault with intent to rob and aggravated burglary. He will face court on Friday. Inquiries are ongoing into the other men at the scene, which was a hive of police activity for much of Thursday morning.

Police will allege the charged man is a nominee of the Lone Wolf MC, a motorcycle club with a presence in WA since 2014.

In 2015 several of its members were arrested and charged over a major police investigation that led to the seizure of drugs and almost $800,000 in cash. That same year several other Lone Wolf WA members were arrested and charged after allegedly holding a man captive at gunpoint. At one stage the club, which originated in the eastern states in the 1970s, had a clubhouse in the Canning Vale area.
