Armed with guns and a search warrant, police have scoured the Hells Angels Palmerston North headquarters.

There was an air of tension outside the Albert St property as at least six officers searched the house and removed a “significant quantity of alcohol” and other items, about 11am on Thursday.

Police conducted the search warrant due to potential breaches of the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act, a police spokeswoman said.

Police did not say what the alleged breaches were. No arrests were made, but inquiries were ongoing, a spokeswoman said.

Police had earlier raided the pad on June 18 as part of a long-running operation targeting the Hells Angels central chapter, alongside other groups in Manawatū, Bay of Plenty, Whanganui and Auckland.

Four high-end cars and six custom Harley-Davidson motorcycles were seized, along with large stashes of cocaine, ecstasy, methamphetamine, cannabis, and cash.

The 13 people arrested in the raids are facing charges of possession, manufacture and supply of class-A drugs, and for alleged firearms offences.
