Twelve members of the Tribesmen MC have been arrested in a series of raids across Christchurch that uncovered $15,000 in cash and drugs after an attack on a rival club.
More than 10 members of the club, considered the most dominant player in Christchurch’s scene, were involved in a fight with a small group of Mongrel Mob members outside the Christchurch District Court on July 30.
One Mongrel Mob member had their head stomped on several times, leaving blood on the pavement outside court.
Police have visited five properties linked to the Tribesmen across Christchurch in the last 24 hours. Ten members have been charged in relation to the fight, and another two are facing unrelated charges.
It is understood police found more than $15,000 in cash during the raids along with drugs and drug paraphernalia. More arrests are possible.
The members of the Tribesmen were at court to support the club’s president, Elder Browne, who was due to appear in court that morning.
Browne, 42, faces three charges including possession of LSD, possession of methamphetamine, and failure to assist with a search warrant.
Meanwhile, drugs, cash and firearms were found by police during a raid at property linked to the Rebels Motorcycle Club on Thackers Quay, Woolston about 6.30pm on Wednesday.
Four people are facing drugs and firearms charges.
