The NT Police Force Gangs Task Force assisted by the AFP National Anti-Gangs Squad and the Australian Border Force today conducted a vehicle check point, pulling over 20 motorcyclists who were participating in the Bandidos Darwin chapter’s five-year anniversary ride.
A police spokesman said the identified Bandidos members included a number of interstate members, some of whom were club office holders.
Members of the Veterans Motorcycle Club and the Heretics Motorcycle Club also participated in the ride.
“The riders were stopped on the Stuart Highway, Palmerston and were given roadside alcohol breath and drug tests, in addition to licence and roadworthiness checks being conducted,” the spokesman said.
