Three people have this afternoon been charged as part of the Echo Taskforce investigation into attempt to murder Mongols MC bikie Rocco Curra in Bulleen in August last year.
Four warrants were executed in Narre Warren South, Rosebud, Brooklyn and Hampton Park this morning by police from the Echo Taskforce, Southern Metro Divisional Response Unit, Special Operations Group, Critical Incident Response Team and the AFP National Anti-Gangs Squad.
Tavita Sua, 28, from Narre Warren has been charged with attempted murder, intentionally cause serious injury in circumstances of gross violence, recklessly cause serious injury in circumstances of gross violence, intentionally cause serious injury, recklessly cause serious injury, criminal damage by fire (arson), use category e unregistered handgun, fail to provide pin code.
Poiva Sita, 29, from Hampton Park has been charged with attempted murder, intentionally cause serious injury in circumstances of gross violence, recklessly cause serious injury in circumstances of gross violence, intentionally cause serious injury, recklessly cause serious Injury, criminal damage by fire (arson), fail to provide pin code.
Athar Almatrah, 30, from Brooklyn has been charged with attempted murder, intentionally cause serious injury, recklessly cause serious injury.
The trio faced Melbourne Magistrates’ Court shortly but there were no applications made for bail and all three were remanded in custody to reappear on February 2 for a committal mention.
A 40-year-old Rosebud man have been released pending further enquiries.
Detectives had previously charged 11 people in January this year in relation to this matter.
