Hells Angels MC member charged following vehicle and foot pursuit

Strike Force Raptor operatives have charged a Hells Angels MC member following a vehicle and foot pursuit in south-west Sydney.

Just after 2.30pm yesterday (Monday 18 January 2021), officers attached to the Criminal Groups Squad’s Strike Force Raptor, observed a white Holden Commodore travelling above the sign posted speed limit near the M7 and M5 Motorway interchange.

A brief pursuit was initiated when the driver allegedly failed to stop as directed by police.

The vehicle continued travelling along Bernera Road, Jedda Road and Hoxton Park Road, before stopping at the intersection of Cartwright Avenue.

The driver – a 31-year-old man – allegedly attempted to flee police on foot, jumping fences and running through several backyards.

The man was arrested following a brief struggle with a male Senior Constable at Cartwright Park and subsequently taken to Liverpool Hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.

He was later released into police custody and taken to Liverpool Police Station, where he was charged with police pursuit – not stop – drive recklessly, drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous, drive motor vehicle during disqualification period and resist officer in execution of duty.

The man, who is a Hells Angels MC member, was refused bail to appear at Liverpool Local Court on Tuesday 19 January 2021.

During a search of the Holden Commodore, police allegedly located 45g of cannabis, which was seized.

The passenger, a 16-year-old girl, was arrested at the scene and also taken to Liverpool Police Station. She was dealt with under the Young Offenders Act and released.

Investigations into the incident are continuing.
