Man shot by Stafford County Police after Motorcycle Club shooting

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — A 38-year-old North Carolina man remains hospitalized after being shot by Stafford County Sheriff’s deputies after police said the man shot another person at the Tuckahoe Motorcycle Club on Sunday, police reported on Monday.

George R. Batts, Richlands, N.C., was shot at by police after he pointed a gun at officers after being told repeatedly to drop his weapon, police said Monday. Batts was in possession of the gun in the parking lot of the motorcycle club, where police said Batts had shot a man in his 40s in the chest shortly after 10 a.m. Sunday in the 1100 block of International Parkway, police said.
