Carlyle, Illinois – The Clinton County State’s Attorney’s Office reported more information about the brutal incident that occurred this week near Tipsy’s in Carlyle.

“35-year-old Michael Allen Burton and 29-year-old Bryson Lee Williams were arrested Monday and have each been charged with Class X felony armed robbery, Class 2 felony robbery, Class 3 felony aggravated battery, and Class 4 felony mob action,” said State’s Attorney JD Brandmdyer.

Burton and Williams were charged with armed robbery and burglary.

They brutally beat Kyle T. Heimann, hitting him several times on the head with their feet and beer bottle. Then they took a cellphone from Heimann while threatening him with a knife.

Brandmeyer explains that Burton and Williams knowingly used force in a robbery, thus violating public peace and harming a passerby.

He also adds that both men are associates of the Mongols Motorcycle Club. But since the investigation is ongoing it is currently not possible to establish a connection between them and an earlier incident at Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri.

The investigator previously said that the bail for the defendants’ was set to $ 100,000 for each with strong conditions: not to contact victims or witnesses, their families, ban to visit bars, taverns, and no involvement involved in drugs or alcohol activities.
