A Rockingham man with links to the Hells Angels Outlaw Motorcycle Club could face the death penalty in Thailand, if convicted of alleged drug crimes.
The man was arrested after police seized thousands of dollars worth of drugs, including $90,000 of ice in raids.
One kilogram of the drug was discovered in a backpack in his car, it’s alleged.
Detectives say they found even more hidden in a fridge and a candle during a raid at the man’s home.
A Nigerian national was also arrested after trying to escape off a balcony.
Officers say he has links to the West African Mafia operating out of Bangkok.
Police believe the Nigerian national was pretending to be a taxi driver and supplying the drugs in bulk for the bikie to onsell.
Thai police kept the bikie under surveillance after receiving a tip-off, even putting a GPS tracker on his car.
Then they patiently waited for the right time to pounce.
It’s believed the drugs were destined to be sold locally in Thailand and smuggled to other countries, including Australia.
The accused man is behind bars in a Thai jail.
If convicted, he could spend the next 25 years there, or even be sentenced to death.
