Police to oppose bail for second man arrested over alleged attack on Nomads ACT sergeant-at-arms

Comanchero MC

Police will oppose bail when a second man faces court today (20 February) following a house fire in the Tuggeranong suburb of Kambah in November last year.

The 31-year-old man has been charged with nine offences, including acts endangering life, arson, aggravated burglary and participating in a criminal group.

Yesterday a 31-year-old Canberra man believed to be a Comanchero member faced the ACT Magistrates Court charged with arson and aggravated burglary in relation to the incident.

The house fire on 21 November last year was immediately labelled as suspicious by ACT Policing, with investigations by Taskforce Nemesis linking the fire to an outlaw motorcycle gang.

Two residents were able to exit the house unharmed as ACT Fire and Rescue put out the blaze on Chirnside Place, Kambah at around 11:00 pm.

Following an investigation by ACT Policing’s Taskforce Nemesis, the second man was arrested at about 7:00 am today in Watson.
