More than 700 bikes and cars took part in parade to honor health care workers in the State of New York

A Facebook post brought well over 700 participants for the special Cruise for COVID-19 hosted by the Hudson Valley Hot Rods Car Club.

“I never expected that turnout,” said Hudson Valley Hot Rods President Paul Niemann, ” I thought maybe about 100 cars.”

Keith Lipsey of the Blue Knights Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club, gathered the motorcycles and Rolando Zapata worked out the law enforcement escorts.

There were even a couple of fire departments that participated. It was an effort by many. The convoy paraded past Montefiore St. Luke’s Hospital Cornwall and Sapphire Nursing home in Goshen.

There were about 15 different clubs involved between car and motorcycle. New York, New Jersey and Connecticut really came together for this event.
