Detectives from South East Region’s Taskforce Maxima, State Crime Command, have charged a man linked to an motorcycle club with drug and weapon offences following the execution of a search warrant at Sunbird Avenue at Paradise Point on August 11.
During a search of the residence police located two hand guns, a silencer, two knuckle dusters, $12,400 in cash and quantities of cocaine, MDMA and cannabis.
A 44-year-old man, an alleged associate of the Mongols MC, has been charged with 14 offences, including four counts of possession of dangerous drugs and one count each of: possession of things used in a crime, possession of proceeds of crime and unlawful possession of category H weapon (handguns), category R weapon (silencer), explosives, category M weapon (knuckle dusters and push knife), and restricted item (baton).
He has been remanded to appear at Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow.
“These are serious offences which pose a significant threat to the community and we will take every opportunity to disrupt this sort of activity which brings nothing but harm to our society,”
