Police: Shots fired as rival club members attend motorcycle “cruise” in Allentown

Police

Allentown police are investigating after three people were shot overnight during a motorcycle “cruise” involving rival club members in the city.

Officers were first called to the 600 block of North Seventh Street around 11:30 p.m. Friday for a large gathering of people and motorcycles blocking traffic, Assistant Chief Charles Roca said. The group dispersed, but police were called back to the same area around 3:30 a.m. Saturday for reports of shots fired.

Witnesses told police that the gathering was part of a motorcycle “cruise” that began outside the city and was attended by people affiliated with rival clubs, which led to violence. Three men showed up at area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries early Saturday, Roca said.

Involved clubs names remains unrevealed.
