Downtown Myrtle Beach bar loses liquor license

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WPDE) — A bar popular with the biker crowd has lost its liquor license ahead of the Fall Rally.

The Rum Bar, AKA Barnacle Bills, lost its liquor license effective Thursday, according to the South Carolina Dept. of Revenue.

“As of today SCDOR has ordered the revocation of all ABL (alcoholic beverage licenses) licenses for The Rum Bar in Myrtle Beach, dba Barnacle Bill’s Rum and Raw Bar,” the state agency said in a statement. “SCDOR sought revocation of that license because The Rum Bar hindered a SLED inspection.”

The revocation order was sent out Thursday, SCDOR says, because The Rum Bar did not request a contested case hearing within 30 days.

On the bar’s Facebook page, a post says the business is closed for a few days while they undergo repairs.
