Two men with alleged ties to “organized crime” are scheduled to return to provincial court in December.
Colton Ben Kiley, 31, of Glace Bay is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking in cocaine, possession for the purpose of trafficking in Ritalin and possession of property obtained by crime, money. Kiley continues to be on remand and is scheduled to return to provincial court Dec. 5.
A second accused, David Kyri King, 26, of Glace Bay, is charged with two counts of possession of prohibited weapons (brass knuckles and a knife) and two counts of possession of weapons dangerous to public peace. He continues his release on conditions and is to return to provincial court Dec. 15 to enter pleas.
Both were charged after an investigation by Cape Breton Regional Police into organized crime activities. In searching two homes in September in Glace Bay, police seized $120,000 worth of drugs, including 600 grams of pure cocaine along with other drugs including shatter (cannabis resin), Ritalin, hashish, and $12,000. Officers also seized weapons and clothing affiliated with the Black Pistons motorcycle club.
A third accused, Andrew Jim Roberts, 36, of Glace Bay is to appear in provincial court Nov 16 to enter pleas on numerous counts of breaching court orders.
