Senior Rebels bikie Nick Martin has been shot dead in front of bystanders and his family at Perth Motorplex.
The 50-year-old was reportedly gunned down in front of crowds, including families and children, at the Kwinana Beach drag racing venue about 8.30pm on Saturday.
A 31-year-old man, who was sitting alongside Mr. Martin, was also shot but survived.
Mr. Martin and another person (according to some sourced in mass media also The Rebels MC member, but Mr. Martin’s daughter said the other person shot was her partner and not a full patched member of the Rebels) were treated by paramedics at the scene, but he couldn’t be revived.
Later some sources revealed the other man who was wounded in the attack as former Bandidos bikie Ricky Chapman.
Mr. Martin’s wife and daughter were sitting close by and witnessed the fatal incident, and tried to help keep him alive.
An five-year-old boy, was not related to either of the two bikies but was there with his parents and who had been seated on an adult’s lap next to the bikies, was treated by paramedics for a “minor wound” but didn’t require hospitalisation.
The other victim was transported to hospital.
Police Commissioner Chris Dawson said WA Police were now preparing for any potential retaliation attacks among the “outlaw motorcycle fraternity”.
Homicide detectives are investigating the type of firearm used in the shooting and have not ruled out the possibility of a sniper.
A witness close to the fence boundary said they heard one of the shots and saw it unfold in front of them, near the raceway’s starting line. The witness said she saw Mr. Martin get shot and a man, believed to be his daughter’s boyfriend, with wounds to his thigh and forearm.
No arrests were reported.
Nick Martin was gunned down just couple of weeks after he was involved into the brawl with Hells Angels sergeant-at-arms Dayne Brajkovich at a Scarborough bar. (biker-news.com do not allege any involvement of Hells Angels MC members or associates to this incindent)
