OPP, Sudbury police to release details of outlaw biker bust

Hells Angels Ontario

Members of the OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau are expected to provide information Wednesday about a multi-jurisdictional drug-trafficking investigation involving the Greater Sudbury Police Service, as well as counterparts in the Niagara Region and Ottawa, targeting members of several outlaw motorcycle clubs.

OPP Superintendent Bryan MacKillop is to join representatives from the Greater Sudbury Police, Niagara Regional Police Service and Ottawa Police Service for a press conference, during which they will provide details of a 14-month investigation into the alleged trafficking of cocaine, methamphetamine and fentanyl throughout the Niagara, Sudbury and Ottawa regions.

The media conference is to be live-streamed via the NRPS YouTube media channel, www.youtube.com/user/NiagRegPolice, beginning at 12:05 p.m.

A GSPS spokesperson told local media recently that the service had been part of a joint-forces operation working in collaboration with the Ontario Provincial Police Biker Enforcement Unit, the Niagara Police Service, and the Ottawa Police Service, and that the multi-jurisdictional investigation related to drug trafficking involving the Hells Angels Nomads, Red Devils Motorcycle Club and the Hooligans Motorcycle Club. The investigation resulted in the execution of numerous search warrants and arrests, in Greater Sudbury and elsewhere.

Sudbury police are expected to provide more information on their involvement in the investigation following the OPP press conference.
