WHITE HALL – Two members of the Pagan’s Motorcycle Club face charges of attempted murder and conspiracy to commit a felony in connection with a weekend brawl that ended with a Hilton, New York man in a medically-induced coma.
White Hall Police charged James Cody Biggie, 37, of 202 Skyline Dr., Rivesville, and Bruce Evan Davis, 53, of 135 Pine Lane, Fairmont, on Aug. 4 after warrants were obtained for their arrests. According to the criminal complaint, Biggie and Davis, along with Jason Harris and a fourth man, had what police called “a pre-planned physical confrontation with several male individuals in the parking lot of the BFS Foods in White Hall.”
At 1:50 p.m., a Monongalia Emergency Centralized Communication Agency 911 report stated there was “a fight/stabbing in Fairmont between Hells Angels club and Pagan’s Motorcycle Club, and that one of the Hells Angels members was being transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital.”
White Hall Police identified the victim as Kenneth Murphy of Hilton, N.Y.
In the melee, Murphy was struck in the head with a baseball bat, cut and stabbed with a knife “…he has subsequently been placed in a medically induced come with a questionable prognosis of recovery,” states the criminal complaint.
Police used eye-witness statements, surveillance video and physical evidence to determine probable cause in obtaining the warrants from the court system.
A witness at the scene said the Pagan’s allegedly ran over one male member of the Hell’s Angels and struck another man with a car. The witness also said the Hell’s Angels jackets indicated they were from Rochester, N.Y.
She said there was yelling and screaming outside before the first responders got to the store off U.S. 250.
“The one that just got hit with the car, not stabbed, came in asking for towels, so I grabbed the rags that we had and I took them out,” she said. “I applied them to his (the victim’s) head because his head was bleeding.”
The unidentified woman also put a towel on the victim’s wrist where he was bleeding. She said he was stabbed in the head and his wrist was gashed, as he lay on the pavement by a gas pump.
The woman said she applied pressure to his head and another person put pressure on the man’s wrist to stop the bleeding until EMS arrived. She said they were told by EMS that if they hadn’t helped, the man probably would have died.
White Hall Police were aided in the investigation by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, the Fairmont Police Department and the West Virginia State Police.
Both Biggie and Davis are in the North Central Regional Jail. Bond for Biggie is set at $1,030,000, while bond for Davis is set at $750,000.
