Gunfight starts after someone allegedly tried to steal bike parked near Miami nightclub

MIAMI, FL — Three people were being held by Miami police — two of them after being wounded in an apparent early morning gun battle outside the District 3 night club in Miami. The shootings took place around 1:37 a.m. Thursday, according to Miami police.

A woman identified as a witness told WPLG-TV that rapper BallGreezy was inside the club at the time along with “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” star Tommie Lee. The witness said BallGreezy was making a music video in the club, which is located at 3632 NW 25th Ave.

A BallGreezy told Patch that the rapper had already left the nightclub by the time the shooting occurred. Lee did not immediately respond to a Patch request for confirmation as to whether she was inside the club at the time.

Officer Kiara Delva of the Miami Police Department told Patch that the gun battle apparently stemmed from an attempted theft of a motorcycle parked outside the club. She said police received multiple ShotSpotter alerts through the city’s gunfire detection system.

“Apparently a guy who parked his motorcycle went into the club and was told by someone that someone was taking his motorcycle,” Delva explained. “When he went to approach the two subjects, they armed themselves with a firearm.”

She said a good Samaritan saw what was happening and pulled out his own firearm.

“An exchange of gunfire happened,” she said, adding that neither the good Samaritan or the owner of the motorcycle were injured.

Delva said a third person was being held along with the two wounded men. Both gunshot victims were driven to Jackson Memorial Hospital in stable condition, according to Delva.
