Three members of a “biker gang” allegedly kept a Monroe Police Department officer from investigating a crash Saturday according to arrest records.
Affidavits filed in connection with the arrests accuse, Jeffery Bridges, age 39, Thomas Drinkwine, age 38, and Marshall Mann, age 35, of obstruction of justice and simple assault on a police officer. The document describes the suspects as a gang.
The report states a patrol officer saw a motorcycle crashed at Breard Street near Concordia Avenue. As the officer attempted to investigate and check on the motorcycle driver, he was reportedly stopped by the bikers.
The officer reports giving the bikers multiple commands to not help the driver from the roadway. The suspects continued to help the driver get back on his motorcycle until he left the scene.
According to the arrest affidavit, the three men kept the officer surrounded until the driver left.
It states the three men walked toward the officer in an aggressive manner and attempted to surround him again multiple times. The officer said he believed he was about to be attacked.
When other MPD officers arrived on the scene, Mann, Bridges and Drinkwine were taken into custody.
The suspects were booked early Saturday. Bail was set at $3,750, and the suspects posted bond shortly after booking.
