Smith County Sheriff’s Office identified motorcyclist killed in Chapel Hill area

SMITH COUNTY, Texas — The Smith County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a motorcyclist was fatally shot in the Chapel Hill area.

According to the SCSO, just before 5 p.m. on Saturday, officials received reports of a motorcycle accident in the 16400 block of Farm-to-Market Road 850.

The motorcyclist, identified as Brandon Edwards, 33, of Ben Wheeler, was traveling eastbound and was shot, causing him to crash his motorcycle onto the side of the road.  

Edwards was pronounced dead at the scene. Smith County Pct. 2 Justice of the Peace Andy Dunklin responded to the scene and ordered an autopsy.

Some sources saying that Brandon Edwards was full patched member of Cossacks MC.

Investigators are still working to identify a suspect.
