Special police units have secured a major search campaign in the biker milieu in several NRW cities. In Monheim, Langenfeld and Hilden, residential and business premises were searched on Thursday morning, the police said. Almost 100 officers were deployed.
The background to this is extensive investigations into gunfire in Monheim in October 2019. The driver had not been injured, but his car had been hit by several bullets.
Some of the men who received a visit to the police on Thursday are said to belong to the Hells Angels, according to investigators. The investigators did not want to say whether the victim was the biker from an opposing club or a disgraced person from his own ranks.
It is determined on the suspicion of attempted dangerous bodily harm. In addition, the suspicion of an attempted homicide was examined. Extensive evidence has been confiscated. The officers also discovered marijuana and a harvested cannabis plantation with almost 100 plants. No weapons were found.
