Police

ARVADA, Colo. — Police in Arvada are investigating a shooting outside a restaurant Saturday night that left three people wounded and one person dead.

Around 10:22 p.m., 911 operators received calls reporting that multiple shots had been fired outside Jakes Roadhouse BBQ, located at 5980 North Lamar Street.

Three people were wounded and a fourth person died in the shooting that police said arose from a conflict between two motorcycle clubs — the Hells Angels MC and Mongols MC — outside the restaurant, according Arvada Police Detective David Snelling.

No arrests have been made.

UPDATES:

The deceased was identified by police as 43-year-old William Henderson.

“The one with life-threatening injuries may have been a bystander who stepped in to help. We’re looking at that as part of the investigation,” Arvada Police Detective Dave Snelling said Sunday morning.

Police investigators trying to determine types of guns that were fired.

“This is not a new rivalry if it is the Mongols and the Hells Angels. But it is deeply concerning. It was in the middle of a neighborhood,” Snelling said. “We are very lucky no resident was shot and that nobody else was injured.”
