Bikers on the road to raise awareness for Juvenile Diabetes research

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT)– Area bikers are on the road to raise awareness and money for Juvenile Diabetes research.  Hundreds of motorists drove off from Rod’s Ride On Powersports Saturday morning.

To participate in the ‘Thunder Ride’ bikers had to pay an entry fee of $30. New this year, classic cars and convertibles were also invited to get in on the charity ride.

The money raised will go to local hospitals to help treat children with Type 1 diabetes.

“All of these people who registered for the ride, all of their registration is going to go towards all the money that we’re going to give back to the hospitals. So of course, we raffle a motorcycle, and we have all these other great prizes as well that all of these businesses in our community donate for this event,” said Jen Buchner, General Manager of Rod’s Ride On Powersports.

The option to ride virtually was also given for those who could not make it because of the pandemic.
