Comanchero Tarek Zahed extradited to NSW after being arrested in Victoria at the weekend

Detectives from the Criminal Groups Squad have extradited a high-ranking Comanchero MC member Tarek Zahed to NSW after being arrested in Victoria at the weekend.

Last month, Criminal Groups Squad commenced inquiries to locate a 40-year-old man, who was wanted on an outstanding revocation of parole warrant.

Following extensive inquiries, officers from Victoria Police’s Echo taskforce and Australian Federal Police (AFP) National Anti-Gangs Squad, arrested the man in Victoria last Friday (26 February 2021).

He was taken to Melbourne West Police Station and appeared at Melbourne Magistrate Court today (Monday 1 March 2021), where NSW Police applied for and were granted his extradition to Sydney.

He has since been escorted by Criminal Groups Squad detectives on a flight back to NSW, which arrived at Sydney Airport about 4.20pm.

The Raptor Squad will assist to return the man, who is a high-ranking member of the Comanchero MC, into the custody of Corrective Services NSW.
