Staying socially distant on their motorcycles, about 40 bikers received blessings Saturday morning from Pastor Leslie Nye, of St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Herron and Spruce Lutheran Church, at the annual Blessing of the Bikes in the parking lot of Eagle Supply Company in Alpena.
In previous years accompanied by live auctions and poker runs to raise funds for local charities, this year the event collected money and food donations for local church-run food pantries, according to John Putkamer of the Alpena Biker Coalition.
