The Red Knights Motorcycle Club PA Chapter 39 collects warm wear for children

The Red Knights Motorcycle Club PA Chapter 39 is collecting new coats, mittens, socks, gloves, hats and scarves for children of all sizes. Now in its third year, the Winter Warmth Campaign has grown exponentially since the beginning.

Club secretary Joyce Duprey said that the Red Knights are “a group of soft-hearted past and present firefighters who want to do this for the community.”

Duprey is a nurse at Penn Highlands in a pediatric clinic. A few years ago she witnessed an exchange between and mother and a little girl about missing too much school. She could tell that the child didn’t have warm clothes to wear to the bus stop and that the family wouldn’t have the means to buy them. Bringing the need to the motorcycle club, the group decided to do something to help as there are many children in need.
